Mr Omar Deria

Omar has been running Cumberland Community School since 2019 after being at Forest Gate Community School for 11 years. Whilst at Forest Gate Community School Omar was a Deputy Headteacher for 2 years, Assistant Headteacher for 3 years and a Head of Learning for 3 years.

Omar had a detailed and systematic approach to driving high standards in behaviour, safeguarding and pastoral care. Under Omar’s leadership, the culture of Cumberland Community School has significantly been transformed in a short period of time to one of high-expectation, accountability and excellent systems to support all staff and students. The transformational leadership at Cumberland Community School has resulted in life-changing opportunities for all students. Omar pledges to transform Cumberland Community School into one of the highest performing schools in the country.
