Inclusion
BackThe Inclusion Faculty at Cumberland Community School provides structures and strategies to ensure that all students — including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) — are fully supported to achieve their potential both academically and socially.
Our highly skilled team includes a SENCO, a Deputy SENCO, an Assistant SENCO and Resource Provision Lead, and a dedicated group of Higher Level Teaching Assistants, Teaching Assistants, and specialist professionals. Together, they work with teachers and students to maximise learning, enhance teaching, and provide tailored support. This includes targeted interventions such as social communication groups, emotional literacy sessions, speech and language support, sensory regulation programmes, and in-class assistance. Additional supervision and structured activities are also available at break and lunchtimes for our most vulnerable students.
Our Inclusion Team:

The faculty ensures provision meets the needs of every learner by: identifying, assessing and reviewing needs; boosting literacy, numeracy and learning skills; providing tailored in-school support or referrals to external agencies; adapting teaching and resources for accessibility; partnering with parents, carers and students; and developing staff expertise to strengthen inclusive practice across the school.
